SAMOTI-WHAT?

What in the world is Samotivation and why does Ron Weasley look so confused? If you’ve read the HP series, you know that Ron’s always confused even when he isn’t confused.

To be honest, even I am confused. I don’t really know what Samotivation is, since it’s constantly evolving, growing and expanding, the same way I am.

After the radio station I loved working at closed down (RIP QF Radio 91.7 FM), I began to miss being on air and interacting with listeners. I couldn’t bring the station back to life, nor could I start my own…..

then the idea of creating a podcast emerged!

But what would the podcast be about? How would I host it online? What equipment would I need? “I don’t even know the first thing about podcasting!” – I remember thinking.

Since a very young age, I’ve always had a fascination with self-improvement and benefited immensely from such books and motivational speakers. The first books I read in this regard were Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People and Art Berg’s the Impossible Just Takes a Little Longer (both available as free Audiobooks. Select the US site).

The inspiring stories of these people and the knowledge I gained from the book, gave me confidence in areas I had no confidence in – making friends, relationships, myself and life as a whole.

I had no confidence in myself, I was just another insecure teenager growing up with numerous complexes, however with each book, I slowly but surely began finding a new-found confidence in myself.

I walked taller. I aimed higher. I thought bigger.

And I owe it to the wealth of information that I found in these books.

Maybe that’s the reason that I’ve wanted to help people my whole life, because these books helped me when I felt helpless, confused and dissatisfied with my life. They helped me see greater value in myself and live a better, more meaningful life. I wanted to help others do the same. And I wanted to be in a position, where I could do so.

So I went to university, thinking that with a political degree I would finally be able to help people. (Because the BEST way to succeed in life and help others is to be $200,000 in debt, with only a smile and a massive sheet of paper with your name on it, that you can barely hold in one hand :D).

If the amount of sarcasm in the above sentence didn’t make you cringe, please continue reading.

I quickly realized that this is not the path that I wanted to take. So I created my own. I put together my political degree, radio skills and love of self-help and created the Samotivation life-enhancement and self-improvement podcast and website, guided by the words “Go to Bed Better than You Woke Up.”, which means that you do what you need to do throughout the day to go to bed stronger, having achieved more, and be a more confident and powerful person than the person, who woke up that day, each and every day.

I am YOUNG. I am HUNGRY. I am AMBITIOUS.

So far, the podcast has gotten 1200+ downloads from 40+ countries and this is just the beginning. This is just the beginning for SAMOTIVATION and this project will grow and expand far more than even I can imagine.

Join me on this journey to a better you and go to bed better than you woke up with Samotivation.

Welcome to the Samoti-nation!
